What's new

Has anyone tried Wm. Neumann soaps?

I'm a sucker for packaging so when I saw WM. Newmann soaps recently, I had to take a look. Has anyone tried any of their products? I'm specifically interested in the signature 1907 soap as the scent description sounds very interesting.

I've been using their Bay Rum. I've had no issues with it and it seems to be a good soap. I get a good rich, dense, slick lather with it and the after shave skin care is good. FYI, it is a melt and pour type of soap, at least the Bay Rum is.

Just discovered this brand myself. I have the fragrance sampler on the way so that I can decide which scent I want to buy. I'm definitely going to get some splash or ASB.

I got a puck just before Christmas. It's a bit finicky with the amount of water needed, but otherwise a good performer.

I think that the lather is good. Although Neumann warned about water soap ratio, and there are people who say that are difficult , for me is good and easy. It is dense and cishioned and glides well enough for my taste. The properties of the post, I can not say exactly, because I get the lotion, and do not know if that influences, but My face is fine. The aroma is complex, but I can not describe it. Both are similar (complex) but also different. I love the 1911, a lot. Hope it helps.

Whoa. Stop. This is good. I'm getting comfortable shaves with this stuff. I'm a tallow snob and all that blah blah, but whoa ... I'm catching great cushion protective shaves. It was close ... closer than tabac for sure, but better (more protective) than most veggie soap formulas I've been tied into lately. Since it's a melt and pour the scent is POWERFUL. I've missed that in soaps. Lime is especially nice. I may have found a new favorite lime soap. Time will tell. I really like the lime mint early in the morning. The Bay Rum is clovey for me, but I'm not a bay rum guy.

Hard to believe it's a melt and pour because it performs better than that. Slick. Good. These guys did their homework. Marshmellow Root? It sure is nice and powerful scented on a groggy Monday morning.

The 1907 and 1911 are simplistic classic cologne like notes, but good (every woman in the office loved both. They love the Classic the best) Blended scents in soap are not my thing normally, but these are easily likeable. The heartwood is very good also and I'm leaning towards that. The scents are so strong that I used a cheaper pure badger brush (Lee's) to lather because I was afraid the brush would hold the scent, but I was worried for no reason. It's easy peasy to lather and that pure brush killed it. Work ... dip ... work ... dip ... face...work...very nice stable lather.

Anyone else have input? It's been a while since I've appreciated a melt and pour this much. :thumbup1:

I don't have the soap, but Neuman's aftershaves and balms are excellent.
Heartwood and Lime & Mint Rum smell great. I read on another forum that'
the shaving creams were top notch.
