Has anyone tried the American Safety Razor SE PTFE coated?

Like a number of others I want to give an SE a whirl but don't want to immediately buy a big batch of blades. A number of folks recommend the Ted Pella ones that are PTFE coated, but they require a big order and I'm told that shipping is expensive. I just noted that American Safety Razor (Personna) makes a PTFE SE blade that is available on Amazon in a 25 pack for $6.75 or $18.95 for a hundred. Has anyone tried these?

I believe those are the same blades. Did not know they were available on Amazon.

Edit -- I couldn't find them packaged in those quantities on Amazon. Do you have a link?

Rite Aid sells packs of SE blades with the "Treet" logo on them, identical to the logo on Treet DE blades I got from Pakistan.

Didn't check the price, but knowing Rite Aid, I suspect their price for 10 blades is more than a pack of 25 from Ted Pella.

On the back of the package card of the Treets sold at Rite Aid, there's a reference to ASR in Va. Makes me wonder whether these blades were made for ASR in Pakistan, or ASR retained the Treet name for SE blades, selling the rest of the rights to the company in Pakistan in 1947.

It appears the Treet is made in USA by ASR for SE blades only. I have seen pictures and descriptions on the websites that can't be named. For some reason, ASR appears to have retained the rights for the SE (maybe because they did not sell ASR Pakistan any SE equipment). Makes you wonder what the terms are for Treet Pakistan (i.e. do they have a permanent license for DEs? Do they pay royalties?)......

I was under the impression that the "American Line" was made for utility knives and scrapers and such...just looking at the personna web site.

"Often used in pathology labs, medical device manufacturing, and in film and food industries, these Stainless Steel blades cut cleanly, are highly corrosion resistant, and are coated with Dupont Dryfilm (R), the active ingredient of which is PTFE. This coating adds high lubricity and non-stick qualities and enhances the metals natural resistance to chemicals and other sources of corrosion."

Ted Pella blades are described as "Single Edge, PTFE- Coated, Stainless Steel Blades"

Don't know enough to know what the differences, but there may be options?

I see no mention of any of that on personna.com under any of their single edge blades. Also, the picture on amazon.com is a box of 100. Might as well just get some from your local hardware store.
