I've always had more software.
2 razors
3 brushes
~10 soaps and aftershaves
3 brushes
~10 soaps and aftershaves
In current rotation ----- 5 razors (with a specific blade for each) and 6 brushes = 11 "hardware pieces."
----- 7 soaps, 3 creams, 4 AS splashes, and 3 AS balms = 17 "software pieces."
So, for me and my face, right now "software" is the winner !
And by the way, I just finished a sublime evening shave --- Ariana & Evans L'Orange Verte face lathered
with my Yaqi tuxedo brush, and three delightfully smooth passes with my Edwin Jagger Ebony razor and
Feather blade (4). Finished off with Clubman Pinaud splash and Nivea balm. Ahhhhh, ..... Life is good !

Have both but if forced to choose, I would do 2 razors and keep the software
I used to be about both, hardware & software. As I've narrowed down my razors, I'm more into the soaps. But I am narrowing the soaps too. So then I'll shuffle into the brush rabbit hole!

Definitely leaning to hardware right now, by a significant margin.
I'm very sensitive to scents, so I really can't do too many different soaps. I like a few products that work well for me.
