Happy Birthday, Julia Child!

If she were stil alive to today, she would be 100 years old. Her books are some of my favorites, and her TV show was great as well. If only there were more chefs like her.

As a Pasadena resident, Julia is one of my favorites, not to mention a local hero. I watched her TV show growing up, and I have her book "The Way to Cook." I enjoy her recipes, and I make them on special occasions. (I also loved Dan Aykroyd's Julia Child skit on SNL sometime ago.) My wife and I even have a "Julia Child" rose plant growing in our garden--most appropriate considering Pasadena is the "Home of the Rose Parade" (the blooms are butter yellow, and smell like licorice, just in case you wanted to know).
