Hand made shaving brushes much better?

I was looking over at Shavemac and I see that they sell both hand made and I assume machine made. The hand made's are more expensive. Do they have a better feel to them?

My understanding of this, largely based on info from the Shavemac website, is that the machined brushes are pretty much thrown together, and then trimmed to shape, which removes the soft tips from the hairs, leaving a prickly finish. Handmade brushes are shaped by hand, ensuring that the hairs are correctly knotted to get the right shape, leaving the soft tips of the hairs in place.
