I've learned that it's impossible to shave yourself with a straight razor because it's like holding a knife and that corporations are researching ways to make shaving better for the customers.

I have that book, but have not read it in its entirety do to some midterms at school. The book was written in 1894 and it really is not shave related, but it was way ahead of its time.

Yes, those four blades most likely will stop cutting in the 4th use....which is good for the razor maker$$$$$$
