Gorgeous Titanium Custom DE handle from Will Quiles (wquiles)

I have only gotten one thing made custom for me in my life. It was a small leather fob for my key ring made over 20 years ago. Yeah, I still have it.

Anyway, I thought why not finally get something custom for myself. I love the feel of quality over quantity as I keep aging up. I decided to get Will (wquiles) to make me a razor handle made of Titanium. I decided to get a simple style that resembled one of his earlier products. After looking at his other work, I may get another one in the future.

Will was very easy to talk to. He answers emails at his earliest opportunity. He is a pleasure to work with. His prices are very fair. His time frame for custom work was more than I could hope for.

This looks beautiful in pictures, but I know pictures don't often convey the real beauty and quality, so holding it will be another added post.

It is about 88mm long, 17mm wide, 2.8oz. When I get it in my hands, I will post more pictures.

I got my handle today. I've been wanting a heavier handle with some grip. This has some nice weight to it and it certainly doesn't slip out of my fingers like the EJ89BL handle does. My EJ is my daily goto razor 90% of the time. As you can see the length and diameter are a bit larger. I think I will love this handle the more I use it.

oh the temptation!
One thing I've always disliked about the Tech was the handle.
this would solve that problem nicely.

Really nice handle, I like the design. I hope it gives you many great shaves. I know the first time I shaved with a heavier aftermarket handle on my favorite head (NEW LC) the difference was very noticeable. I felt the shave was better and I could really let the weight of the razor do the work with no added pressure from me.

I may have him make me a handle before long. It sounds like he can basically do any design you like. I'll have to find out if he does knurling or what other patterns he can do on the lathe.

I like a longer handle, about 4" is right for me. I don't like them super thick though. The Muhle Grande handle is too thick for my taste. It actually makes my hand hurt. The normal diameter of a regular Muhle handle is perfect. Most of the vintage Gillette handles are WAY to thin and way too short.
