Good starter razors?

I agree. I wonder if someone has tried one here.

The Gillette Seven O"Clock razor is more, or less Gillette's modern production Tech for the Indian markets. It's a Tech head, on a plastic handle.

I have not used the Concord razor, but it does seem fairly well built.

Lastly, the Lord Smart is a great razor. It shaves very much like the Merkur it is patterned after. There is a version of this razor with an aluminum handle, but it's presently not available in the US.

Also, shoebox has the Lord Smart - next time I order from there I'll be picking one up for a spin. 12 bucks - looks like a 'borrowed' design from the 23c.

I fully agree Harrie, the Lord razor with the Aluminum handle and Merkur like head (The Lord Merkur Tech) is a simply phenomenal razor. The aluminum handle makes it not quite as head heavy as the plastic handled version.

I really wish it were available stateside, as it would be my #1 recommendation for newbies on a budget.
