Going to Chicago for two days...help me choose

I'm going on a quick weekend trip to Chicago. I'll leave Friday afternoon and come back Sunday evening. So, I'll only have two shaves while there: Sat a.m. and Sunday a.m.

I'm taking either a Bic disposable or one of my two-bladed cartridge razors. Not gonna take the Slim. I'm a bowl latherer exclusively, but I figure if I make lather I can either face lather or palm lather for two shaves, so no bowl.


What I'm trying to decide is what to do for software. I have four ideas:

1) King of Shave shave oil, and use it with water only. No brush, no lather.
2) A small container of KMF, and use it brushless, lathered in the hand. No brush.
3) Take a sample of a cream in a sample jar, and take my Omega boar brush.
4) Take a Mama Bear soap and my Omega brush.

So, what do you think? Which would YOU do?

I would go brushless with the KMF and then make sure you visit Merz Apothecary either in Macy's on State St. or the Lincoln Square store, Art of Shaving and the T&H store. Along with C.O Bigelow and L'Occitane Chicago is a good place to shop for wetshavers.

You might head home with more than you came with, but isn't that part of the fun.

I recently did some time at the in-laws house and brought some MB and my brush. It's not ideal, but you can lather right in the container if you need to.

You're not going to hit any bag weight limits on a weekend trip, so load up your dopp kit with a brush and some cream, whatever a/s you feel like wearing. There's no need for your shaves to suffer just because you feel you need to put together a quote-unquote "travelling" set-up.

+1. I travel all the time for work and only use a carry on. I take with me my Kent BK4, sample size Castle Forbes jar(I have all 3), and AS and WH in a TSA approved containers.
