Glycerine soap to metal container ?

Hi all,

Can I get some advice on getting a tub of glycerine soap into a metal container.

It is the $50 SRD Bulgarian rose so I dont want to stuff it up.

Paying that much I wouldn't even mess with it. What kind of tub is it? Could you wiggle it and flex the plastic a bit (assuming it's plastic) to pop it out? In any case, I think the better question would be; does heating effect the EO?

Yep, I was thinking along the same lines. I just have a nice metal soap dish and this seems like a good candidate for it?

I was thinking of heating it up in a bowl placed in a bowl of boiling water, like melting chocolate.

Do NOT melt this soap... Rose Otto has a low flash point, about 130 degrees.. if you overheat this soap you are going to lose your rose..

put the plastic tub uncovered in the freezer for a few hours. When you remove it from the freezer bag it upside down on the counter and the puck will fall out.

If the puck is not the same size as the container you want to put it in, simply cut the puck up into tiny pieces and then smoosh them into your container to fit.

Thanks so much Sue! I am really glad I asked the questions here :thumbup1:

Done!

I put the tub in the freezer for 2 hours, popped the disc out. Used sharp knife to chamfer the edges, put shaving in the bottom of metal bowl and pressed the trimmed puck into the bowl, no mess, no fuss, no wastage.

Many thanks for the hints!:thumbup1:
