I am interested in finding a chart or a thread that shows the different handle finishes and designs and colors so as to be able to id the approximate year, when the letter codes are not viewable. I didn't realize that there are so many subtle differences.

I was just going to post this but you beat me to it. There is another thread by mtGrayling that shows all the razors side by side for easy comparison. I saved the thread to my desktop some time ago. Now I have to find the original link.
