Gillette Old type ID/advice

I just 'won' this on Ebay:

It looks to me based on what I can see of the razor and the style of the case that it is one of these:

Would this be correct?

I am also wondering if there is any advice on how to protect the razor against plate loss when it is in use.

We need a better photo and if there are any trademarks on the blade guard to identify this razor. While the handle looks like the Gillette the cap and guard do not. The Gillette open comb razors have 14 teeth in the comb where this razor has only 13.

As for plate loss, just be careful how you clean the razor and don't try and polish it.

I see what you mean about the number of teeth. The box and razor look more like this one:

That's what it is. You can clearly see it says "new" on the upper right of the lid.
