Rare British Gillette Old Type

Howdy folks! Hope you all doing fine.
I want to share with you the latest razor I got and I'd say It's the rarest one in my entire collection.
I don't see them around much and I wouldn't know about them if it wasn't for Mr.Razor's website.

1906-08 British Old Type

This case features the diamond logo instead of the script one from the website.
The serial number as you can see is "G 343233". Is it from 1906 or when?
Is there any ad for this particular model?

the british serial number has not the same timeline like the US serial number. With the Gillette logo on the case it must be from after 1908. Nice find!

Hello, razors sold to/by the British company carried the British patent, so this was sold by the US company.
The G marked gold plating on those early examples, so the "real" serial number is either 343233 from 1905 or A343233 from 1908.
Achims example is imho made by Boston for the British market, the A was swapped for G, so it's most likely from 1907.

I think these smooth handle razors were the "heavily gold plated with 12 blades" version sold for 10 USD from 1905 till 1907-8.
As yours has the diamond, I'd opt for 1908. It could be possible that this handle design was used in 468B sets (gold plated in seal or pigskin case).
