Gillette New Tech Long Comb, the missing link?

After trading my R41 I've been keeping my eye out for OCs that are more aggressive than the mildly aggressive razors (e.g., Red Tip; 34C/38C; 37C/39C; Progress @ higher settings) but less so than the R41, aka the chrome cannibal. The Fatip helped fill the gap. I think that the Gillette New Tech Long Comb further helps to fill the gap being somewhat less aggressive than the Fatip, but clearly more than the mildly aggressive razors. I just used this razor this A.M. and got an excellent shave, but I was surprised at the extent to which I felt the blade (third shave with a Rapira Plat Lux, a pretty smooth blade; also used Cella). The point here is that I have read threads started by gents looking for an unthreatening, albeit aggressive open comb (e.g., more than the 15C). I would suggest this be considered as an alternative in this dialogue. If it has been bantered about but I have missed it, I apologize. My problem in general is that I equate "feeling the blade" to that extent with the shave not being smooth. I am not sure that is correct or proper or whatever.

Here is the razor of which I write.

One of my favorites as well. It hits the sweet-spot between aggressive & mild, efficiency with little irritation. It's an all around great shaver for me. I'm glad to hear others are fans, too.

Agree with the LC New being among the best. A replated LC New head with a BRW Bull Mastiff Deluxe XL handle is my favorite razor among the 30 that I currently own.
