What's new

Gentlemen, Assistance please.

I am in a rut, I am wanting to get some Poraso but I can not make up my mind on either going with the cream or the soap?:confused1
Can anyone fill me in on which may be better, does one seem to offer more protection then the other?

Thank You for your help, any input is greatly appreciated.

I'm normally a soaps guy, but this time I have to vary from standard suggestions and say go cream... and go RED!
The Proraso Sandalwood is a truly special product for the price. The added shea butter does wonders for face feel.

I enjoy both equaly, some have their opinions as to witch performs better. My advice is choose the one you like to lather, either way you are getting a great lather for your money. I also would like to recommend you try the new "red" cream, the scent is hit or miss with many reviews.I like the scent myself and the performance of this cream is great.

Mostly I use soaps, but between the two, Proraso cream is my choice . I tried the soap years ago so I don't have any current experience with it. I have found the cream to provide outstanding protection and slickness. In fact I used it this morning with a my vintage Hoffritz slant loaded with a vintage English Wilkinson Sword blade and had a great shave. This time of year I am addicted to the Green for my shave followed by a splash Aqua Velva. Cool and refreshing for these hot summer days.

Well, if you're anywhere near a mall with a Bath and Body Works, you can get the green tube Proraso (branded as Bigelow), and try it out. I love both the soap and the cream; haven't tried the red yet. Good luck!

My friend, Proraso shaving cream and Proraso shaving soap are exactly the same product with different consistency. If you want the Green you can get either, if you want the Red or Blue you have to get the cream because there's no soap option available at the moment.

I do understand that the two are of different consistency, but are you saying that both perform exactly identical?

I have used both Greens extensively (i.e. multiple tubs and tubes) and I can discern no notable difference in performance.

Looks like you can't go wrong with which ever you choose and now all the new flavors make it so much more fun.

While you're at it, get a little red tub of Cella.

Well, on the old formula I liked the white tub better, but in the end i could stand either the white soap or Bigelow. On the new formula I haven't tried the soap but the new Bigelow/Proraso is great, I love to super lather with it.

Well I broke down and purchased the Soap, I am yet to try a soap have always stuck to creams so we will see if it holds up as you guys say it will.

That's right. Pick what seems best for you. If you prefer shaving creams, take that one, if not, shave soap.
