In regards to Gem razors does the name Peerless refer to an specific razor model? I have seen and old add for a Micromatic that mentions Peerless and then I saw an Ebay auction for a 1912 style razor that said Peerless on the box.

it was just the name for one of the 1912 sets from the mid 1920s. it was a silver metal case with a velvet lined interior.
Got this one with the aluminium handle.
There were several variations of said handles on British Gem's.

I'm fairly sure it was early 1950s.

Here is the ad from 1946 issue of Life magazine.
The Styrene case would place it at the end of the 40's or thereafter.

In that case, I have to believe it refers to the set or, more specifically, the case. The razor looks just like any other Clog-Pruf.

The aluminium handle 1912 is quite light in weight,but it is a superb shaver.Show me a 1912 that is not.
