Funky smell from badger brush after using Speick soap

I've noticed this extremely strange and funky odor on my brush after it dries following the use of Speick shaving soap. The odor is hard to describe, its almost like the product is bringing back the original dirty badger smell. It seems slightly worse on my cheap pure badger brush compared to my Edwin Jagger silvertip. I don't really notice any weird odors from the other creams I've tried (TOBS, trumpers, EJ/Muhle). In fact with other creams, it takes the scent of the cream itself and the brush smells nice and fresh.

It's my first foray in the world of soaps, anybody else notice a similar spell with your soaps?

That's odd, I don't get anything like that after using my Speick stick. I can definitely smell the Speick scent on the brush when I am done but that is the complete opposite of "funky smell".

I don't know what it could be..possibly a scent used the day before mixing with the Speick scent?

This does sound strange.

That is always a possibility- maybe you could use your Speick soap a few days in a row to see if the funk disappears...
