I've been on B&B since December 2009 but only clicked on The Cafe for the first time a couple of weeks ago. Up until then I used a Nespresso machine and although I acknowledged it wasn't a fantastic coffee I figured that it was pretty good for the convenience offered by the machine. So I innocently enter The Cafe.....and now own a grinder, a french press and a stove top vacuum pot! And I haven't touched the Nespresso since!
I had been buying beans from the supermarket and was enjoying experimenting with different grinds and the different flavours from the french press v vacuum pot. Yesterday I found out that there was a roasting place just down the road from me, so armed with the knowledge I have gleaned from The Cafe I went there and asked for the freshest beans they had. I got myself a bag of beans that had only been roasted the day before and WOW! The difference in the taste of the coffee was amazing. I was a bit sceptical that fresh beans v beans from the supermarket would be that different but I stand corrected.
The point of my post is - if you love coffee, the effort to get fresh roasted beans is definitely worth it!
