Frankenrazor?

Tuesday greetings, everyone. I’m hoping to tap into the expertise here to identify what appears to be a Frankenrazor that I picked up in an eBay BIN lot some time ago. The head and short comb base plate are Old Type and could be, I think, from a variety of razors (e.g., Brownie, Pocket Edition, Milady Décolletée). I’m unsure whether it will be clear from the photos, but the bottom of the base plate has the Gillette diamond logo and the “Made in USA” legend. The handle has me baffled; I suspect it’s from a non-Gillette razor. Here are the photos:

Note that, notwithstanding the gold tone appearance in the photos, the head, base plate and handle were originally nickel or silver plated.
Thanks for your help!

I don't recognize the handle either. It looks like someone's take on Gillette's bar handled New, but the "collar" is longer and more slender on this one.

I could be wrong. I don't actually own a bar handled New for comparison.

Thanks, and I agree, MementoMori. The thin bar handle NEW is the most similar Gillette handle I've seen. From Achim's website:

Perhaps I've stumbled upon the solution to my mystery handle:

Could it be that my Frankenrazor has a cut down Otto Roth handle? The length of the handle is just under 3 inches. Porter, where are you? I need closure! :facep:

Tying up some loose ends today, although the pedigree of my Frankenrazor remains a mystery. While it suffered from numerous scratches and fairly significant plate loss, the razor delivered quality shaves, so a few weeks ago I checked with KronaKruiser (Sam) about getting it replated in nickel. Last night Sam informed me that he'd finished it, and this morning he sent me some pics:

What exceptional craftsmanship! :a14: Thanks much, Sam. I can hardly wait for it to arrive.
