Fragrance Ideas for my Son

I have a soon to be 17 year old son who has until now seemed indifferent to fragrance, shaving or any of that. A couple years ago I gave him a bottle of a Russian cologne 'Teenager' that smells nice but it's getting a bit stale and since he now says he uses it every day I want to give him something nice- maybe something to impress the girls.

Any ideas? He seems to like citrus scents. I love Ralph Lauren Polo green but think that'd be a bit heavy and adult for him. He's not a jock, gets straight A's and is sort of an introvert. Since he expressed interest in my getting him something for Xmas any ideas would be welcome!

I'd recommend Avon Ironman, inexpensive and long lasting Citrus & Spice scent, I had this in my Spring/ Summer rotation but it would work just as well in cooler weather. In addition to Avon (who has many good value, great smelling fragrances; they are often on sale 2 for $22. Large 3.4oz bottles), I am also a pretty big fan of the Bath and Body Works Signature Men's Collection. They have six fragrances (Citron, Ocean, Oak, Noir, Twilight Woods, and Dark Amber). They are technically $30 a bottle but B and BW is always running some sort of sale. Purchase during a Buy One Get One Free sale, and they are $15 each a great value.

The Citron sounds like something your son might enjoy as it has top notes of grapefruit. The Ocean as well has citrus top notes.

My other recommendations would be some of the fragrances that I consider to be timeless classics: Davidoff Cool Water, and Coty's Aspen. Both are clones of Creed's Green Irish Tweed. These fragrances were the inspiration for the aquatic/ sporty fragrances that are so prolific in the market now.

Dior Homme Sport and Mugler Cologne are a couple of citrusy scents he might enjoy. Both are pretty easy to find in most department stores.

How about aqua di parma fico di amalfi from their blu mediterano line? It's a nice inoffensive frag and it would impress the girls because it's from a somewhat obscure house.

Thanks to all of you. I have a lot of things to mull over here- my wife votes for the Cool Water. I have a shelf full of bottles of various, told him he is welcome to sample and see what he likes. Hope he doesn't use up too much of my Truefitt & Hill Trafalgar Cologne!

I mentioned your post to my wife, she came home today with a bottle of PH for Men. It is a very nice fragrance, let's see how it works! I will try hard not to like it too much, I don't want he and I to be wearing the same stuff, it'd be weird.

My vote goes to versace eau fraiche. My go to Summer scent, cool bottle, amazing smell and I promise you, your son and all the ladies will love it.
