fragrance combinations

I am trying to find a fragrance guide, does anyone know a link to one? What I am trying to figure out is, what will blend well with which type of fragrance. I assume my shave soap/ cream should not be a stronger scent than my aftershave. i have searched for a while trying to find a chart or something that would at least point me in the right direction, but to no avail so far.
For instance I have razorock don marco shave soap. it smells a bit like citrus so should I stick to an aftershave that has a hint of citrus in it, or should I go for something different?
I also just purchased TOBS Mr. Taylor's aftershave. I would defiantly hate to overpower this one.
I'm mainly curious if there is a "gentleman's guide to combining fragrances"

There are a couple avenues you can take. Generally, your shaving soap/cream fragrance will quickly fade when you rinse your face. Most do but some very strong ones may last longer from what I hear, not what I have personally experienced. As to aftershave splashes, you have at least two choices. One, use one that has a scent that also disappears rapidly then any edt you want, or, two, use one that matches the edt/cologne you plan to wear. For an example of the latter, I use TOBS sandalwood aftershave and TOBS sandalwood edt; these match fragrance-wise.

Beyond that, we are back to what will "blend". And there you are on your own. I have no personal experience with that. But I can say that on forae such as Basenotes I have read people describing how they layer one fragrance over the other. In that case they are usually talking about putting one edt on top of another edt. Suppose the same ideas would work with soap/aftershave/edt - maybe.

If you like TOBS Mr. Taylor AS Lotion, maybe pick up the Mr. Taylor cologne. Mr. Taylor is my favorite TOBS scent. Also check out the Mr. Taylor Aftershave Gel/Balm.
