Found a Cologne from 12 years ago. Still Good?

Back in 2000 I bought some cologne from Bath and Body Works called Cool Spring. As I have gotten into wet shaving and fragrances, I was going through some toiletries boxes and found about 2/3 of a bottle. Is this still good?

Also, anyone know if its a good scent smells like Irish Traveler from Mystic Waters so must smell like Green Irish Tweed. Is this accurate?

The frags that are supposed to smell closest to GIT are Cool Water and Aspen.

It should still be good. And you should be able to tell if it isn't. In my experience, scents have mostly gotten weak with excessive age if they have suffered at all. I would not consider 12 years excessive. If it turned an un-fragrance like brown, that would be another sign of "going bad," although I had some really old scent that had turned very brown, but still smelled very good, just different than when it was first made. If the scent smells way off, of course, it has gone bad. Should be pretty obvious though.

Irish Traveler from Mystic Waters is a shaving soap only, right? It is said to be the maker's "version" of GIT. Googling "Cool Spring," I see at least one reference to it being a knockoff of "Cool Water." So based on that, and not having tried either Irish Traveler or Cool Spring, but being familiar with Cool Water and GIT, I would say that Cool Spring is intended to smell something like GIT.

I do not know whether "Cool Spring" is a good scent. Apparently some folks were unhappy when it was discontinued, and it seems to list for something of a premium over what I would guess was original retail price on Amazon and Ebay, usually something of a good sign in my experience.

I doubt that it is going to be mistaken for GIT--GIT has influenced scents at all price levels by scent makers of every sort--but that does not mean CS is not a nice scent.

I finally received my Caswell-Massey samples the other day so I will be doing a GIT comparison soon, but next week is going to be very busy so I will probably be doing another single frag week from my Top 10/20.

GIT Comparison Week:
Truefitt & Hill Freshman (1815)
Creed Green Irish Tweed (1985)
Davidoff Cool Water (1988)
Coty Aspen (1989)
Creed Green Valley (1999)
Bond No.9 Chez Bond (2003)
Caswell-Massey Greenbriar (2012)

Yeah I have a bottle of Gucci Rush I bought on clearence from Marshalls about 8-9 years ago. Still have though and it smells pretty good. Since it's going for a nice chunk of change on ebay these days I only use sparingly. Still have a full bottle of it.

It may have lost a little off the top of the fragrance. Heart, and base should be good to go. As you didn't mention where the box was found ie: corner of your garage vs. tucked away in the corner of a closet. As for the second question, I can find no no accords according to my nose that would lead me to make a statement as such.
