Fougere election

So if Valroba and MdC may both have fougeres out soon do you:

A) Get the Valroba, MdC is a bit pricey
B) Get MdC because this would have to be awesome and they'd be doing it for us
C) Get both
D) Already have Queen Charlotte, I'm good
E) Contact Panna Crema and see if they are planning on a fougere

I have the Queen Charlotte fougere and while nice, to me it smells nothing like the little mini bar sampler that came with the regular scented MdC so I would definitely get the MdC fougere.

I choose C, but ONLY if it doesn't smell like the bath soap. And I should also add QCS, too. Then, contact Panna Crema and Mike's natural. :biggrin1:

I'm sure I'll be game to try a fougere shaving soap one of these days. For X-Mass, I asked for and got bottles of both fougeres Penhaligon offers. I can't wear them day after day but I like the barbershop scent, so it only stands to reason to try a fougere shave soap doesn't it? :yesnod:

Brut (a classic fougere) offers a shave cream

okay, so it is certainly not wet shaving approved....

has anyone here ever try to lather Brut bar soap?

might be worth a go...you could always try a squirt of glycerin to get it going

I think the MdC mini bar bath soap has the smell of hay and sweet earthiness. Best I can research this would be the courmain and oakmoss part of fougere. And I, too, really like it!

Decided to contact MdC tonight to ask if the new shaving soap would smell the same as their fougere bath soap. Hope I am smart enough to remember to post the answer here!

Anyone who doesn't want to wait to smell Valobra can try theri fougere bath soap. An Italian deli near where I live carries Valobra products and they've got the fougere bath soap.

Wow! You are the lucky one! Have you tried it, Jim? Can you describe the scent?

The Valobra product are in a locked glass case sort of like some stores use for their good wine. So, no, I haven't smelled it. I will be in Italy for a couple months soon. So maybe I can pick some up while I'm there.

Valobra Fougere? Really? That's great! Valobra is incredible soap.
Where did you hear this? Will it come in a puck?
If it came in a bowl with puck refills, that would be amazing.

Phil at Bullgoose announced it in the vendor forum ("English Fern tallow" something...). It will be stocked by Bullgoose and another vendor in the US, and VintageScent and another vendor in Europe. I don't think the two unknowns have been announced yet. I do have a hunch on the unknown European vendor, but we will see.
