Fly Tying

Cane? I'm Able!
Tried a different clump of deer hair tonight and found that it spun much easier! I think I am making some progress as I try to tie a goddard caddis. It is becoming an obsession! Now, if I could do them in less than 20 mn!

Nice work Mark, the muddler on the right has a well packed head. I struggle with muddlers to keep the head sparse enough to sink, but packed enough to give the profile that I want.

I'm struggling with that as well. I'm very new to hair techniques. Trying to improve and learn. Definitely an experience haha. Have popped the thread quite a few times sending hair everywhere 🤣.

Continuing with my deer hair practice with some more muddler variants. Two matuka muddlers and two pine squirrel zonker muddlers. Slowly getting the hang of it I think.

Getting smaller haha. One size 10 and two size 12 tonight. Two marabou muddlers and a feeble attempt to a more classic muddler lol. First time working with any kind of quill slips lol. Definitely needs work 🤣

Flies from tonight 👍. A couple more woolly worms and some attempts at some other hopper patterns. The letort hopper and the gartside hopper. They need work 🤣🤦‍♂️
