Florals

There have been quite a few threads regarding various floral scents as of late, which probably has to do with the wonderful spring season being upon us. I just ordered a puck of Saint Charles Shave Parma Violet shave soap which is one of my favorite floral scents, and want to hear about yours.

By the way, I'm not sure why violet finds less of a home amongst soap makers than does lavender and rose. I had a hard time finding any other than the discontinued SCS and Trumper's soaps. Care to comment?

I would put Gold Dachs in that list as well. BTW, I wonder why Violet doesn't get the same kind of love as the others. Trumpers Violet is my favorite soap/cream scent.

I love floral soaps. To wit:

Straight Razor Designs - Bulgarian Rose
SCS - Rosa Damascena
C&S - #88
C&S - Oxford & Cambridge (lavender + mint)
SCS - Neroli & Neroli Blend (haven't tried either but I'm sure they're wonderful)
Trumper - Rose
eShave - Mandarin (yes, it's a floral scent, not a citrus one. Well, maybe a hint of citrus.)
TGQ - Savon de Campagne (lavender + sweet orange + lemon)
Honeybee Sue - Floral Euphoria

...and if you can find either of these...
QED Wild Rose and/or Sandalwood/Rose

DR Harris Lav soap scent is one of my favorite flowery types.

I need to branch out in the florals.

What about Lilac?? I don't recall ever seeing this scent, apart from Phil's homemade Lilac Veg soap. I love lilac! Growing up, there was a lilac bush in our backyard; it always brings back fond memories.

+ a million. DR Lavender is on my top 3 list of favorite soaps, both in performance and scent.

Received my Harris lavender 2 days ago. When I took the lid off for the first time, I stood back thinking I'd made a mistake, but having shaved this morning, my opinion has changed totally. Wonderful scent.

I, after having held out the eternity dictated by the relativity assigned to those awaiting products obtained in a fit of acquisition disorder, have finally received my purchase of Parma Violet shaving soap made by Saint Charles Shave from Traditionalshaving.co.uk. My initial, and still current, reaction is that of anticipatory fervor for exploring the qualities this soap bears; something I hope to achieve tomorrow. The Saints' soaps are of such repute, however, as to quell any apprehensions I have had as to its performance. Having passed the previous week bounding between the doorstep and the mailbox to only dissapointment, I today found my gift from the United Kingdom patiently sitting in its dark cubbyhole. To the point of it, SCS has done an unparalleled rendition of violet with this incarnation. I will say with unequivocal enthusiasm that it is my favorite floral scent of any soap I've come across. When held in comparison to Trumper's violet cream, the sweeter aromatics which accompany SCS's soap strike the nose so as to render the sniffer incapable of returning to Trumper's with anything but disappointment or disdain for its banality. Having done the requisite test lather after opening the container, I can also attest to the ability for this soap to linger well beyond the point of any other brand of soap I have had the fortune of assessing, which is a positive aspect in this instance. I am surely gladder today, than was I yesterday.

If you are a fan of less formal prose, then all I'll say is that SCS's Parma Violet is freakin' sweet. I'm so glad I purchased it, and now I need to convince the SCS crew to start carrying the AS again. I need more of this scent!

Don't forget to let us know how your shave goes.:thumbup1:

And how. The shave was great. I felt the soap could have been a little more slick, but it provided great protection against nicks, was very moisturizing on the skin and made me smell great. It is a very soft soap Actually, I'm surpized at the staying power SCS soaps have. There isn't another brand of soap out there that I can still smell on my skin 5 or 10 minutes after shaving. Two thumbs up for this olfactory delight .

I have been enjoying the heck out of my AOS Lavender soap.

Yesterday I received a box from Mama Bears with Jasmine soap, Jasmine Nights EDT and Lilac milk AS. I used all of them this morning, the soap smells fantastic and had a great shave. The Lilac AS milk was pretty good. The star of the shave was the Jasmine Nights EDT. I keep catching wonderful scents of Jasmine.

SCS Neroli Blend soap smells great. I wasn't sure that I would like the burned or bitter orange. I'm a fan.
