Flair Tip

Received a flair tip in the mail ... got it all cleaned up and ready. Had my first shave with it this morning... man oh man ... such a mild shave! It was awesome! No redness, no nicks, nothing! It was a great day!

I have a Flair Tip that I enjoy using as well. Glad you enjoyed the shave :thumbup1: There are other similar superspeeds and some techs that you would probably like as well. Lots of info to be found at B&B on them

Seems like a lot of guys on here go straight from blue to red tip and forget all about the "plain jane" flair tip. It's most likely my favorite.

I have both a '56 and a '64 flair tip. I don't know why but the '56 shaves the pants off of the '64. It seems to work great with almost every blade I have tried in it but especially Derby's.

It's one of the most comfortable razors I own. Plus--heh heh, I bought both of them for five dollars...

Glad you enjoy yours!!

Thanks guys! ... its a B2 on it ... so if I guess correctly ... thats year 2nd quarter of the year that coincides with "B" ... which is this case is 1956 ... am i right in how i'm interpreting this?

Flare Tip's are great razors. Which reminds me, I need to revisit mine...

And yes, the B date code is 1956. Actually, I believe that mine is a B2 also...

I love the Flairtip!

A wonderful shaver, use it regularly both on my face & on the dome.
Seems to like almost any blade I feed it.

I must get a spare one, they don't make them anymore you know :thumbup1:

Mine's a B3 and it's great! progressed to it from a British Tech...it's heavier but gives a lovely shave. Will take a bit more practice to get used to the bigger head though.

I sent my younger brother one of these, along with a Tech and a selection of blades to try. He is thrilled with it. I get almost daily reports from him on which combo he is working with. I really enjoy my '56 SS and can always rely on it for a fine consistent shave.

Is it a drastic difference from the plain flare tip to the red tip? Would it be comparable to maybe a straight bar to an open comb? Just wondering, I eventually would like to pick up a nice red tip in the future just to add to my arsenal.
