First Time with Injector

I had two firsts tonight - my first shave with an injector, and my first time using Edwin Jagger Lime & Pomegranate cream. I lathered in my RB scuttle and had an excellent lather! I got the Injector as a hand me down from my grandfather, may God rest his soul. It has a gold head with a yellow bakelite handle. There were a few blades lying around in an unmarked loader so I popped in a fresh one and did my thing. I did get a BBS shave without a doubt in 2.5 passes, but I could REALLY feel that blade against my skin. I get really good results with DE's. Im not sure if it was the razor/blade, the cream, or perhaps my technique. What do you think? I typically do tend to feel the blade more when I use creams vs. when I use soaps. So I'm not sure what it was. All I know is that as of right now I am NOT looking forward to another shave with an Injector. I hope I can learn something here that will change my attitude! Thanks guys.

You might enjoy using more modern blades. You should be able to find Schick blades at many smaller pharmacies. Call around in your local area and see if any stock them

Thanks Turtle. The blades were probably as old as the razor. Which is probably pretty old!!! I will never get rid of this razor due to the emotional connection so I may as well add some blades to my next Amazon order.

By the way, do all the angles look right on this razor? I was worried that I may have bent it when I was cleaning it. I'm not sure exactly how its supposed to look. Thanks again guys.

You can get AST/Personna PTFE coated stainless steel blades in 20 count injectors. They would be available online only as they are sold as medical blades

Looks fine to me. They have an angle to them.

Do you know where to get those blades from? I am a huge fan of Personna Lab Blue so I'd try those in a heartbeat!
