Well I finally broke down and purchased some Tabac soap. I was hesitant because based on my readings I didn't think I was going to like the smell. It turns out that I am not a huge fan of the smell. I think that over time it will become a bit more mild. I must say that I enjoy citrus based stuff - so it is not that Tabac's smell is bad, just not my preference. However, I had such a good experience with the soap that I think I will just have to get over the smell. I might have to give the Irish Moos a try and see how I like the smell of it. It is always fun to find a new product that is such a joy to use.

When I first tried Tabac I wasn't very enthusiastic about the scent, it was okay, nothing more than that, but each time I used it it grew on me, and now it is one of my absolute favorites.
Same thing with Irisch Moos, at first I thought the scent was kinda strange, but the more I use it, the more I enjoy it.
And they both make a great lather!!

I've liked the scent from the very beginning, but what I really liked was the soap, the lather, the great shaves. Even if I disliked the scent, the rest of the package would keep me coming back.

I will give it some time and see if the scent grows on me. In the mean time I just ordered some Irisch Moos so I will find out how I like it. Going on a bit of product binge at the moment.
I just used Tabac this morning and although I am not crazy about the smell, I like the lather. I followed up with some Alt Innsbruck A/S (which is also tobacco based but I like the smell of this very much) and they seem to compliment each other very well.
At first the scent was a bit off putting. Once I used it a while I really started liking it. The lather, however, was not so good. Once I started using a brush much damper than I would with MWF or Williams, I got great lather. It's now my number 2 soap after MWF.
