Only four shaves in and you seem to be making a lot of progress. I would suggest to capture what you are doing right and not get too adventurous for the first couple of weeks.
Good Job!
Hello and welcome. I've only been at it a week or so, and it does get better with practice. I've still got some minor razor burn myself, but after a week I'm getting nice smooth shaves. I've found that the trick is short strokes with the razor, and knowing the layout of your beard. (I never really knew my beard until I started DE shaving-funny how that works.) Also the angle is a learning curve, but you get it pretty fast. You know when the angle is right because you hear the razor cutting through the stubble. The Edwin Jagger DE89 is a good choice of razor. I had to choose between the EJ and the Merkur 34c when I ordered my gear, it was a tough decision. But I went with the Merkur. Both good razors. Have a good one.
