First Super Speed.and, "Cult" Story.

$shave1 002.jpg

I called an antique store, near me, this week and asked if they had any shaving-related stuff. The guy said "I got one safety razor with a mug and brush". I aksed him what kind of razor and he said "Well, it ain't no Fatboy or Slim". I then asked if it was a 3 peice and he said "No, you twist to open it".

So, he has this set for $10. Later, I think to myself that I should have asked if it was even working.

So, I go in there today, and there it is. I mentioned what he said about the Fatboy and Slim and he just gave me a "Geez". I said that I know that those are pretty popular razors, right now, and he says "It's a cult, is what it is!" He then went on to talk about how he doesn't even waste time with the higher priced razors, saying that "It's not worth my time".

Well, anyway, this whole set was $10, which, I think is pretty good, I would have gladly paid that for just the razor, which, cleaned up easy as pie, and gave a nice shave this afternoon.

I know that the mug isn't that old, but, it's glass and in mint condition. The AS bottle is full, and, it's Old Spice....just don't know what to do with it. The brush is an Ever Ready...don't know much about it. The SS is X 4, so, 1952.

Good score! Super Speeds are great. If I run into an Old Spice mug for under $10 I grab it. But with all the other goodies ... icing on the cake.

And yeah, it's a cult. Be sure to use the AS.

Don't know what to do with the Old Spice! Why, use it of course! That particular bottle was used from 1980 until around 1993, and the mug was made from 1961-1964.

Looks like you got a good razor, a good mug, and a good aftershave.

I would trash the horrid brush and invest maybe $50 dollars in a high quality new badger hair brush

You will then be set for many years of efficient and comfortable shaving! Congratulations!

Tom, i wouldnt use that AC.....:a47:

Why not? I have gallons of vintage Old Spice and Avon that I use all of the time. My oldest Old Spice dates back to the 50's and it's great stuff. Surely you've read some of the posts about the vintage after shave that a lot of us find in the after shave forum.
