I recently aquired two straights, the first, a Crown and Sword ERN from Muirtach and a Hill and Son Haymarket that I did a restore on and had Fnord5 pin new scales on and hone. I chose the Hill and Son for my 1st real (I started w/ a shavette) straight razor shave.
After a long day I decided to relax w/ a proper straight shave. So I locked myself in the bathroom, took a hot shower, softened my beard w/ conditioner. Next I cranked up some 50's rock and roll on Sirius radio and downed a Coors Light, put my GN Silvertip to my face w/ some Arko soap and worked up a nice face lather.
I started WTG down my right cheek (good so far) skin stretched real taught. Worked my way to the otherside and did the same. Worked over to the under the nose (little trouble there) not to bad. The chin was next (that area is going to take some time to get down). I then worked my way to the neck (Wow, that was a challenge) and I re-lathered for a second WTG pass. All in all it went pretty well. I finished it up w/ some Pinaud Bay Rum and another CL.
