What's new

First Shave with PannaCrema!

Finally got this in and lathered it up today and all I can say is "Wow!" Loads quickly, lathered right up with less water than I expected, and stayed super-moist my entire shave!

Really neat texture to it as well, very pliable, almost like play-doh but softer (does that make any sense?).

And boy is this stuff slick! Minor nits were the scent (I liked it, but didn't blow me away), and cushion was only above average (but again this is my first time shaving with it).

Face was super-soft post-shave with no irritation.

In short, if you can get some of this stuff, I highly recommend it :thumbup1: - will hopefully be available on a more regular basis.

Think this one is going to be my new favorite, even better than Mike's or my Razorock croaps (which I both love!).

I had my first Panna Crema shave today and I must admit it was special. My typical problem spot, ATG under the chin, was probably closer than I have ever felt. The rest of the cast was Weber ARC and a new Ladas blade, all preceded by a hot shower. The scent is secondary to me, but it was fine. This will definitely find a spot in my soap rotation, especially if the artisans can keep it in stock.

Quick update - 2nd shave today I used a little less water and got the cushion I was looking for!

This stuff lathers easier than the Razorock Croaps that I have tried (including King Louis Lavender Karite), has the best cushion and glide I've experienced, and moisturizes post-shave as well as Mike's or Mystic Water IMHO.

It kind of takes the challenge out of shaving - I don't think I could mess up the lather on this if I tried...

Already out of stock of the sandalwood. After three mins of availability

I might have mis-read but I don't think they were offering sandalwood this batch. They were just offering four of the scents - Nostalgia, Namaste, San Francesco, and Fumo di Londra. Try one of those.

He was talking about the San Francesco, which is described as:

A sandalwood base with incense, and hints of oriental spices in the tail.

Which indeed went out of stock in around 3 minutes.

Hi all! Good news to hear--I finally got to order 2 soaps and am looking forwards to their arrival! Holy Moly! Easier to lather than RR? cool Sounds like a modern day P-160. Is it here yet? Oh well...Enjoy your shaving! btw everyone knows what time it is in Rome, right?

Yes, the San Francesco sold out pretty quick. Three others still available at time of this posting. I picked up a San Francesco and a Fumo Di Londra.

PC seemed to get some major press round these parts last year, but I haven't heard much about them lately.

I pulled out my puck of San Francesco after a long hiatus - I forgot how amazing this stuff performs! Slick, great cushion and glide, and a great scent (ymmv, of course).

Not sure if the more prominent availability has cut down on the talk, as it's not quite as hard to get your hands on as it used to be, but this stuff lathers with the best of em!

There's certainly an ebb and flow with who's this month's hot soap maker. LA Shaving Soap, Stirling, Haslinger, etc

I'd say HTGAM is currently the hot one. The CaD and the Polo Green got a ton of buzz this past month.

I've enjoyed using PannaCrema Vetiver. It's a great scent and offers top notch performance. I'm not sure if it topples my favorite Valobra, but it's certainly no slouch.

I'm currently working my way through a block of Namaste. That's right, I bought it so long ago, it came in a block, as opposed to a jar! I love the performance of the soap, just with the scent (which is VERY nice) was a bit stronger. That's my experience with all of his scents, though, they are very mildly scented.

I shaved 2x with my Panna Crema and my experience was not so good. I found it very difficult to lather. I will try it again next week loading up the brush for a few more seconds and see if it gets better.
