First shave with Palmolive Shave Stick

After using Speik stick, which I did not enjoy at all and a Volobra stick , which was better but I also didn't really like the scent of, I had pretty low expectations of this low cost Palmolive Shave Stick. But it's my SUNDAY SHAVE -the longest, most self indulgent shave of the week (mostly because the wife is at her Zoomba class on Sunday mornings) Anywho, this little boxed Palmolive stick has been sitting in unopened on my shave shelf for months, and today was the day. So I loaded up my Fat Boy with a new Personna blade, unboxed the Palmolive, unwrapped the foil and rubbed it dry on my beard. It really wasn't going too well so I added just a touch of water and rubbed some more. Then I went to town with my go-to Tweezerman brush, round and round in circles on my face for a full minute....and BOOM lather city! wow. Smooth, cushiony, and a very nice subtle scent. thank God, a subtle scent! I did my first pass with the Gillette set on 1 - then realized that was wayyy to low, I wasn't even shaving. So I re-set up to 3. Very happy with the results. The Palmolive was really cushiony and there was PLENTY of that Palmolive lathery goodness left on my brush for passes 2 and 3 and the little touch ups I did on my neck.

All in all I was pleasantly surprised by this wonderful little stick - it's one of my faves now!
I guess good things come in SMALL packages!

Anyone tried this? What did you think of it?

Palmolive is one of my top picks.

For those sticks that you are not all that fond of the scent but love the lather.

Put a light coating of stick soap on your beard

Load your brush with a nice smelling soap

Build a shave stick / puck super lather on your face.

works every time for me

That's a clever idea!
I am definitely gonna try that with my partially-used Valobra Stick.- might need to overpower it with MWF

I am doing the opposite with my "bad" creams. I am using up tubes of Burt's Bees and CREMO (both of are LOW lather, and ineffective for me...but they both smell nice) by mixing them up in a bowl either KMF unscented or Nutrogene Sensitive unscented..-stretching my supplies out.
