First Post...Score?

Hello Every one. I've been reading the forum for months now, and finally decided to dip my to in.

Just bought this Lady. Can't seem to find any information about it, or for that matter, another one like it. What do you think?

If anyone could explain the correct way to add pictures to a post, I will gladly try to make this posting prettier.

Thanks (from a forum rookie)

Nice looking Lady Gillette. Looks clean...just be very careful with what you use to polish a gold razor...very easy to remove the thin lacquer and then the gold.

Welcome to B&B...you're going to love it here. It's a life-altering experience!

Thanks for the help guys. I'm pretty excited about this one, as it is my first gold razor, and I haven't ever seen the Lady Gillette in gold before seeing this one.

Yeah, congrats! I didn't even know there was a gold one. Blue, pink, champagne and gold.

And Welcome!

I have the blue star and find it to be a great shaver. It's basically a long handled tto with good balance. Gives a great shave, so it's in my rotation.

Well, this is definately an all gold razor, no color inlays. From a little digging on safetyrazor.net, it looks like the Lady Gillette was produced starting in 1963, date code I. This one has a date code H4, 1962, fourth quarter. Maybe it is a prototype or limited run.

Welcome to B&B, glad to have you with us!

I, like the others, have never seen a gold Lady Gillette (we have a blue one and a champagne one), would be interesting to find out any info on this. Could someone have had a regular lady gold plated perhaps?

Yup, I think it was referred to as Yellow and not gold though. (Blue, champagne, pink, and yellow.)

But, this one is GOLD. All gold. Not the yellow handle/chrome head.

OP might have something rare on his hands. I've never seen or heard of an all-gold one.

I´ve seen Lady Gillette blue from 1962 (H4) to 1974 (U4). Maybe yours is selfmade complete gold plated from a employee in the Gillette plant. We have seen those complete gold plated razors like the Super-Adjustable last time on ebay. Nice find!
