First head shave with a DE

Well, I finally broke down and shaved my head with my HD and a Astra blade. I used an old puck of sea forth and lathered up pretty good. I do have a few observations.
1) It took alot longer then I thought it would, about 4 passes.
2) It took me 2 months to get a good map of my face, my head is a totally different story.
3) Going ATG to soon is not a good idea
4) That mole on the back of my neck will ALWAYS get nicked (even when I did it with a Mach3.
5) The final result was pretty good initially but after the cool rinse a little witch hazel I still feel some spots that aren't very smooth.

Not sure if I'll do it again, usually I just set the clipper to lowest setting, cut it all and let it grow back for a few months. But, the fun of shaving made me shave it

I also head shave and one thing I do if I have an area that needs to be protected is to put a round band aid and lather around the area. Depending upon the area and size of item to shave around, it helps as a reminder. Tear it off after you are finished. For some it works, it is worth a try if it bothers you alot.

I tried a small part on the side of my head above my ear with my DE. I liked it but am so used to my clippers. I might try it again.

I too have one spot I consistently destroy on the back of my head with my HD. There isn't a mole but it must be a high spot.

Somehow my head is more "shaveable" than my face. I can do a one pass against the grain (DE or cartridge) with no issues and just do a little buffing to clean up. My face requires a more methodical 4 or 5 passes.
