First DE Razor

Hey folks, I am planning on buying my first DE razor. I have narrowed the choice down to 3 choices, the Wilkinson Sword Classic (Amazon, £4.37), the Edwin Jagger De86bl (Amazon, £20.81) and the feather popular (Shaving Shack via Amazon, £14.49 + £2.50 p&p). Which do you think I should go for.

I am moving towards the Wilkinson Sword Classic because of the low cost and black plastic, for some reason the metal and delicate looking comb puts me off the Edwin Jagger. However, if you think this is the best razor please recommend it. That leaves the feather, almost the same price of the Edwin Jagger but still made from plastic (maybe a bit expensive for what you get).

So, any suggestions would be gladly welcomed. Thanks in advance!

If you don't want to spend too much you could get LORD Smart & L5 for £7.90 from Connaugt's. That's what I bought when I started in April. And when you put Smart head on L5 handle you get L6, a razor that gets a lot of love here. L5 head isn't bad too.

I started on the cheap boots razor which cost around £3.99, it gave a surprisingly good shave - As a way to discover the pleasures of shaving starting cheap and working from there worked for me.

I think the EJ is a good razor. But an old schick krona is much better IMO and you can get them for 10-15$ all day.

You have listed several good starter razors. Appearance will be about the only difference in them. Pick the one that looks the best to you

Do the edwin jagger and use only that for two months! Then you will have the skills down and be ready to try sampling razors if you want to.
