Finally got some use out of my VDH brush

…and it wasn’t for staining furniture.

I bought a VDH brush (the beige “higher quality” handle) as a cheap backup in case I found myself in a post apocalyptic world with no overnight shipping. The wife bought a fogless mirror for the shower, so I gave shower shaving a try. I brought in the VDH brush, a puck of VDH select, and my shick hydro I never use.

Well it took three days but I think I have it figured out, and surprise surprise, it’s the amount of water. The brush doesn’t hold water, but keeping it constantly soaked worked out. Also keeping the VDH select extremely wet and doing a lot of hand lathering got me in a good spot. It won’t turn into my preferred method – but it’s a good quick and cheap shave.

I have been considered a mirror for in the shower. Is the one you got worth recommending? Or, does anyone have a recommendation for a good fogless shower mirror?

I dont know the brand name but I know it was cheap. Pretty sure it came from Target. It works good enough, no fog. Depending on your angle the reflection gets a little distorted though - not sure if this happens with all of them.

You can make any mirror a fogless miror by rubbing toothpaste on it and then rinsing it off.
