Feedback on New Blazer

I picked up a new blazer today. I still need to have it tailored. I need some advice for coordinating the rest of the outfit.

What color slacks can go with this color blazer?

I can't quite figure out what the outfit is missing. You do have a pocket square right? Ah! Its the hat, you're missing a hat!

Maybe some charcoal or grey trousers? You do wear that bow tie well!

Technically, that's not a 'blazer' ... which would be navy blue ... and if you want to be really technical, would have brass buttons.

Looks good nonetheless.

The socks don't go with the bowtie and pocket square. Otherwise, it's fine.

Oh, and have your tailor see if he can lengthen your trousers a bit.

IMHO, a somewhat lighter shade of grey will work much better with that jacket, so that the difference between top and bottom isn't so stark.

I absolutely forgot to shave. You are correct. A weekend of shoveling led to laziness.

That said, I just got out of the shower and completed a full head and face shave. I feel much, much better.

Thank you for the correction on my terminology. I am trying to learn and I want to break bad habits. Would this be called a "Sport Coat"?

I often preach the difference between a sport coat and blazer, and I thought I would have the chance in this thread, and I was beaten to it.

Good look with the gray, and I love the elbow patches. I sometimes go to a local coffee shop in a sport coat with patches, a pipe, and the oldest leather book I have, just to sit around looking like a member of the intelligentsia. Hasn't worked yet, but I will prevail.

Where did you get the socks? I have had a hard time finding long length argyle socks.

Ah, I see your post. Technically a sport coat, because there are no matching pants (gosh, if there are, I would not try to pull that off).

Looks pretty darn good to me. That is a nice jacket. I should look into getting one myself I seem to have a hard time finding ones that fit nice. My suit size is 42L which isn't really common in retail stores. I guess being 6'4" has its disadvantages
