Feather Stainless Steel Razor first thoughts

I'm not really sure that I'm the guy you should read for a review of a product since I've only been wet-shaving and a member of this forum for around two weeks.

I've been using an EJ 89L until this morning when I used my newly arrived Feather razor.

My equipment: Feather razor, Feather blade, EJ Pure Badger 600 Series Brush, EJ Aloe Vera shaving soap, Anthony pre-shave oil, Pre de Provence ASB.

My prep: put bowl in sink with brush inside and fill with hot water, put a little water on top of soap, shower. splash water on face and rub on oil before making lather.

I lathered my face and did a total of three passes with more lather on each pass. I had a little irritation on my face from yesterday as I figure out how to deal with a small mole that is on my jawline.

I wondered at first if I had done something wrong because it didn't seem like I was shaving. It was very smooth and the razor simply glided over my skin. I usually get some burn on my lower neck but didn't get anything this time around. I am paying attention to my technique and taking my time but I think that the razor is really just that good.

I'm really looking forward to my next shave!

It totally feels like it's only taking off the lather...but little did I know!

She's a nice razor!

I'm not ashamed to admit that I put the EJ together wrong one time and didn't get much of a shave. That's what it was like shaving with the Feather...it just felt like I was taking off the lather.

For me the Feather was just too mild. No matter which blade I tried I still had to do extensive clean-up with another razor. I sold mine today.

I found the feather to be a smooth close shave, no nicks, no irritation. I would look at the razor before I rinse it just to make sure it was slicing the stubble away.
