Favorite Tallow Based Bath Soaps?

What are your favorite tallow based bath soaps? I'm three quarters through a bar of Sheep Soap(pine scent) from Stirling Soap. I like it. It does have a different smell, but it's a pretty good performer. I'll try the MWF bath soap next.

Yardley English Lavender
Brut Original (green bar)

I only use those two tallow bath soaps these days, most I use are non-tallow..South of France, Pre de Provence, etc. I do love the Brut though, a local grocery store recently had a sale on the big 7oz bars for $.89 and I grabbed all the remaining green bars on the shelf and left all of the blue behind...it sucks imo. :thumbdown

I've tried only a few, but Stirling is indeed my favorite. The Scots Pine isn't my favorite scent overall, and it can get a bit muted. I think the Tea Tree and the Pig Trail are the best scented soaps. The upside with Stirling is that I find the lather to be excellent, and it just overall performs better than most soaps. The downside, for me, is that the soaps can be a bit short-lived. But, at the price ... just buy a few more!

Right now for verifiable tallow it's Stirling. His soaps are knocking my socks off - literally, I bought the laundry soap too. Wife like the Lavender scent, too.

The sheep's soap is nice, I like the scent. The Lavender smells good to me, the wife like Dr Bronner's scent more for the bath soap (it's a really hyped up lavender scent). I have a pile of soaps and without going into the bathroom to check, they've all been great. Even the Vegan Tea Tree. I just used the Bacon shaving soap to balance that one out.

I haven't noticed them being that short-lived but they aren't triple-milled so are definitely softer than commercial "soaps". But I have been trying all kinds of bath soaps lately and I don't leave them in the shower so they're all in a box, staying dry.

Rod is a great guy - responsive to suggestions and good communication through the choosing and buying process. I think he said he's working on some more manly scents since the bath soaps are primarily neutral/feminine scents - from memory when I placed my last order.

The shave soaps are dialed in pretty nicely now, too. The black cherry fills the bathroom with scent and, it's only downside, makes me hungry for yogurt (weird, I know).

OK, commercial over.. :thumbup1:

I have been using the Queen Charlotte soaps. I am currently using their ginger lime bar and love it. I have the bay rum and old spice to try yet too for the tallow based.

I am waiting on samples of Stirling's shampoo bars and also look forward to trying some of their regular bath soaps. I'll be sure to try those you have recommended.

Agreed about the Yardley that's made under license here in the States (that's the Yardley that's sold in most drug stores & supermarkets), it's a real value for the money. You can occasionally find the excellent English made Yardley in some specialty stores. Try it if you come across some, it's outstanding.

This was my favorite soap as a kid. My parents would get the English(my birthplace....) version.

Dura turkish hamami, fantastic rich smooth lather and a nice fresh lemony scent.
I recently got a pack of this. A four pack of 200g bars is like $3 here. Probably the best value aside from Bee & Flower. A lot of guys won't like it though...it's in the same scent family as Williams or Arko.
