As the picture shows the Piccolo is a standard sized handle, not small like a Tuckaway. But today people want everything supersized, even the Grande feels too small.

The proper way to hold a razor is like a pencil, not a paint brush.

Thank you naughtilus for the advice to hold a razor like a pencil! I used the technique with Fatip Piccolo, and it was just unbelievable.... absolutely beautiful shave, easy and comfortable. My thoughts are that the Piccolo handle and head have been designed with "pencil grip" in mind.
Just wondering, if there is any mention of the "pencil technique" in any razor and/or manufacturer documentation?

It's possible it was part of mini tutorials in vintage Gillette ads. Barbers worked with straight razors so it's unlikely it was in their training literature.

It's just something people say on forums and YouTube. As you've experienced it first hand, it works.
