What's new

Expensive for a stick, but.

What a shave! D.R. Harris Marlborough shave stick just provided an awesome shave. Beautiful lather, not unlike la Toja or Spieck sticks, although it is three times the price (big surprise!). I cannot for the life of me tell you that it is worth three times the price, however, the container is far nicer and conducive to civilized storage and use. But when I have an SAD, and am home in NYC, any reason to drop by Pasteur becomes a valid one.

I love sticks, to the point that I see no reason to buy tubs of soaps, although I am a soap-slut. I do not think I have ever got a bad shave from a stick. That includes homemade ones: Cella, Mystic Waters, and Mike's. Oddly, I had problems getting lather from Cella and MW pucks, but the sticks solved the problem so easily.

Maybe, as a Freudian it is stick envy! Nevertheless, I love those things.

+1 on the shave sticks! Once I figured out how to use them properly, never had a bad shave from soap sticks. D.R. Harris is no slouch either, have used the Marlborough and Lavander as well as the Arlington. Top-notch performers all of them, especially in shave stick form!
