Euro Shopping

A friend of mine is in Europe and said he would be happy to pick up some stuff that we can't get easily here in the states. I was wondering if I can get some suggestions for what to pick up as far as soaps/creams go. If you could give a store or chain name that would really help to make things easier if you remember. He is going to be in Amsterdam, London, Austria (Vienna), Germany, France (Paris and Nice), and Italy (Rome, Florence, and I think Venice). I know he's not going to Spain so I guess that means La Toja is out. I was particularly interested where he can find something like the kilo block of Cella in Italy. Would a regular drug store/pharmacy carry it? Just throw out suggestions plz.

If he is going to Florence, he MUST go to the Farmacia Santa Maria Novella and try the Lozione Dopobarba and Acqua di Colonia. The best scents in the whole world...

The also have a shaving cream, Schiuma da Barba but I've never tried it.

Have him try this search string for Florence. Lots of places to find! I don't know enough about Roma and Venezia but try searching for Articoli da Barba.

from France, Monsavon you can get that in most
Germany, Palmolive shave stick and cream at DM, NIVEA cream at DM, spike stick and cream at Müller Drogerie, Tabac, Müller Drogerie
England, wilkinson sword shave cream in the tube not the tub the tub soap will not lather.

When in Amsterdam he should go to a 'kruidvat' or 'etos". These are drugstores and are located all over the city. You can find tabac, palmolive, sometimes speick and the dutch brand 'de vergulde hand' there.

There are also a lot of small international supermarkets and stores in Amsterdam, especially at a market/street called the Albert Cuyp. When lucky you may find some Arko creams for example, for only 1 Euro.

He can also pick up one of the incredibly cheap Omega brushes at Trekpleister, in the Netherlands. I would buy Palmolive creme in Germany. But if he decides to buy it in Holland, one of the cheapest shops is Dirx. I think Palmolive creme is 1.75 there.

Your friend should pick up everything he can get! The most things aren't so expensive that you couldn't throw them away if you don't like them.

I saw this but I was worried that the info might be dated. I wanted to get some feedback from people who know for sure and have recent info but I'll email him the link anyway. Thanks for all the replies, I'll send this over to him. Hopefully he comes back with some good stuff.

It's a good excuse then to update it!
