Electrocuted Badger - the Tark

Yes, I know it's an electric razor - but it is a single blade, single edge, and even has an open comb! Also, SHOCKINGLY (a most fitting word) enough, the instruction booklet says it can be washed while vibrating - read PLUGGED IN - just like any unpowered razor!:scared:

They did have opium and wood alcohol back when this item was marketed (Crack hadn't been invented yet), and maybe these were used for design inspiration:lol:

I applied power from a safe distance, the blade rocks sideways - no fumes or smoke noted - but refuse to PIF to any curious newbie:biggrin1:

The Tark - a Tech on cRAcK?????????????:lol::lol::lol:

Stunning, thanks for sharing! :thumbup1:

I triple dog dare you to use it. With a Feather. In the shower.:w00t:

It uses a proprietary blade with special cutouts - the one that came with the razor has some corrosion as well.

With the gap, open comb, and side to side wiggly motion, it would have to be a fearsome shave, assuming you survived. People must have been crazier back then:lol:

I have a Racine... a similar plug-in concept.
These are pretty neat, but the idea of having something plugged in (without a GFI) at the sink gives me the willies.

I'm bidding on a package deal of razors on eBay that includes a Tark. I'm not really interested in the Tark except as a curiosity... but (since it's included in the lot) is the head removable? Could it be fitted with a plain handle and used as a SE razor, like a Gem?

I doubt that I win because I'm bidding pretty low and prices have been crazy lately, but you never know -- crazy works both ways sometimes.

It seems to take single edge/GEMS type blades.

I almost got it, plus a Schick Krona and a gold-plated Gillette Tech, for less than what I paid for just a Krona in worse condition earlier today. But someone outbid me in the last 5 seconds. That's OK, I snipe eBay auctions too, and I low-balled this one. If I hadn't already won the other Krona I would have bid a lot higher.
