Ej 89 pif

Hi all,

I'd like to PIF my EJ 89 razor to someone who will use it more than I do. It was the first, but not the last (nor my everything). I've benefited greatly from the generosity here at B&B and wanted to return the favor.

The razor is in very good condition (someone might have been obsessive about cleaning it). It doesn't have any scratches, chips, or other blemishes to the finish.

As for qualifications, I'd like to keep this CONUS so that shipping doesn't get crazy. I'll leave this up for a week and randomly pick a winner next Thursday morning, August 9th, at 8:00 AM (Central). Each person gets one entry, but if you can say why chrome razors are (or are not) better than gold razors, I'll put your name in twice. If you win it and find you don't like it, please PIF it to another person.

I would say that chrome razors are superior because they better match my watch and wedding ring, and nothing is worse than a mismatched shave. Please count me in.

I'm in. I just find chrome better than gold. I am getting married in November and picked out a wedding band, granted it is an awesome black tungsten but if they didn't have it, it would've been something chrome tone. Not gold (yellow that is).

Gold is nice and all, but chrome has that blinding, gleaming mirror finish that gold can't match.

I'm in! Very nice PIF.

Wow, very generous PIF. I have yet to try a DE razor and have been eyeing an EJ89. Please count me in.

Why are chrome razors better than gold?

It's hard for me to explain why I like them better, but I love the vintage aspect of this hobby. There's just something about chrome that's a throwback to the 50s and 60s when things were built to last a lifetime. I'm not saying that gold isn't nice, but chrome just seems much more appropriate (and classy) for this retro razor style. It's classyle, that's classy and style mixed into one.

Thanks again for the amazingly generous PIF. You can bet that whoever wins it is going to appreciate it.

I'm in!
my bandmates seems interested in "old school" shaving so if I win, it goes straight to him!

Why is chrome better than gold? obviously, gold is a soft metal. we want nothing soft trying to shave our faces. Come on!!

I'm in , feeding the Raddiction.. Chrome is better than gold because the lacquer always comes off Gold with time and looks bad.

I'm in, would love to PIF it to a buddy! Chrome is better than gold because it's more classic and utilitarian! It is reminiscent of the pipes on a cruiser bike, or the bumper of an old firetruck. It's just more... Manly! :-D

I am not in as I already own but would like to say that whoever receives this PIF is a lucky man.

P.S Chrome is better because nothing says manly better then chrome. Its built in our system. " hi there how was your day.... HOLY CRAP CHROME!"

I'm not in! Just wanted to say that this is an awesome PIF! I love my DE89, shave with it more than any other razor. And chrome is better than gold because its simply more modern looking.

Please count me in! Chrome razors are better than gold because chrome rhymes with dome and your face is on your dome
( which you shave) and gold rhymes with old and that's what gold razors look like!

Please count me in! I have only vintage razors, and have been dying to try a newer razor and the EJ's have a fantastic reputation.

Gold has cache, but can clash in many a working man's Shave Cave, and when used (as every good razor should be) often it dulls, develops scratches and will eventually wear.

Chrome is strong and beautiful by it's nature. It's clear (polished, buffed or textured) silver color compliments any manly Shave Cave, and is infinately more durable. With common care, allowing a favored and treasured razor to passed down for generations.

Very generous of you!
