Edwin Jagger Gold Finishes

Can someone comment on the gold finishes for the Edwin Jagger DE89 styles? I'm thinking of upgrading my chrome Barley to the gold version. The chrome finish is phenomenal. Will the gold finish be just as good or is this nothing more than a thin plate on top of the chrome model? It doesn't feel like the chrome will come off of that easy, will the gold?

The finish on my Gold Barley looks terrific. It's not going to wear off anytime soon. Buy it!

Yes, all EJ razors use the same head.
