I stopped in a small antique store earlier this week, asked the older fella working there if he had any shaving stuff, he didnt but thought he might have a razor at home.
Dropped in yesterday to see him and he had found his razor...a fat handled Tech, looked to be in good condition, just needed a cleaning.
Since he went to the trouble of finding it for me, I bought it and a small antique table for $20
Appears to have a Z2 date code...interesting
I also received 2 ebay shipments yesterday... bought a week apart they arrived on the same day...it was like Christmas
First was this single razor purchase..a 1946-47 Aristocrat.
It has some plating loss but for the age and the price I'm happy with it
Next is a small lot, I was the only one to bid on it...
http://www.ebay.com/itm/251110583049?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649
Here is what I got for my $9.99
A push button GEM that looks brand new
Still has this piece of cardboard in it
A Gillette New, that seems to be in decent condition
A battle scar near the top of the shaft
Also scored this brush..iti s a Strong Set, made of wood and has a pearl white paint job...I really like it
This is cool...a single edge blade dispenser
It has 3 or 4 new GEM blades in it, I took 1 out before I realized it doesnt go back in
These blades will be handy for this razor
A 1912 GEM
I thought this was cool...it came with a sealed Damaskeene blade in the blade holder
I could not tell from the auction if the last razor was in a very bad Khaki case..
Wow..rough shape...
The contents didnt look too bad considering.. the Khaki Set printing is still visible
The blade case is pretty bad...
After prying it open, I found it contained alot of blades...
The head of the razor still had the blade in it...along with old whiskers skin and blood...
I noticed that there were actually 2 blades stuck together...the original Trac 2
The razor itself is in not too bad of condition
The ball end is a bit gross...
The cool part is that it was made in 1918...
And is marked Property US Army
I cant believe no one bid on this near mint beauty
I will post more pictures after I get everything cleaned up...might take a while
Heres the group pic of yesterdays haul
Thanks for looking
