dumb question #2

So I originally bought a refill instead of the tub and didn't have a matching tub. I happened to also get some samples and an empty container. Is it necessary for the soap to fit exactly to the diameter of the container? Would that affect lathering if there was space around the soap? I've read people who grate the soap and pack it down to the container but wondering if that is necessary.

Not at all necessary to have the matching bowl. Even if the container is a little too big, after a couple of uses, the soap will attach itself pretty well to the bottom of the container. You'll just have to chase the puck around the container for the first couple of uses.

No it will work just fine with a gap around the puck. Use what you've got and enjoy your shave, don't get hung up on the small stuff.

Unless you have the kind of OCD typical around these parts, there's nothing to worry about. Heck, you could pick up the soap puck in your bare hands and rub it directly on you face if you wanted to (and in fact I sometimes do!)

...or palm lather!!

What soap are we talking about here, by the way?

It bugs me to have a soap that's too small for the Ziplock containers I use so I grate and press them so they fit snugly. I also like the fact that it gives me a little more flat surface area of soap to work with.

One vote for grating it and forming it to the bottom of the container and not playing hockey with the puck.:biggrin1:
