Don't be hatin'...

...but lately I have been really enjoying shaving with my Sensor Excel. I think with the techniques of DE shaving applied to cartridge shaving is really paying off for me. Total BBS everytime! I think I'm getting better shaves with the Sensor Excel than with my Feather AS.

Well if you're looking to PIF that Feather AS since you use it so little, let me know!!

That's great...but, don't be surprised if at some point in the future, you return to the Feather AS. Keep it handy, just in case :thumbup1:

Traitorous dog! Just kidding. You can't argue with success so keep it up. BTW, did you try any samples I sent you.

I'm going to check out a 7 dot tonight. :wink2:

As for the Feather AS, she's not going anywhere. I'm sure I'll be DE shaving again very soon.

The Sensor Excel is a perfectly fine shaving implement. I used it for a few months consistently this year. I would say it is one of the best cartridge systems. Two blades+pivot head+weight make for a very well built, effective, and easy-to-use razor. The cartridges are still really expensive though :mad3:.

Gillette Sensor? Let's burn the heretic!!!!!!

Just joking... I still have a Mach3 that I use when I'm travelling... :blushing:
Still miss my DE razors in those occasions, though. Never travel with them because I'm afraid of loosing or damage them.
I have yet to find a cheap DE razor to use when travelling. A Wilkinson Classic or something like that.

But I agree with you: the techniques of DE shaving are a BIG improvement, even when applied to a cartridge razor.

Maybe you would enjoy a hybrid shave like that espoused by our old friend Horatio Caine (whose presence on these boards is sorely missed, I might add). He says his everyday shave consists of a first pass with the Sensor Excel and a second pass with a DE. States that no DE he knows of mows down stubble as efficiently as a Sensor (which is the effect he wants on first pass), but that no cartridge razor does touch up as deftly as a mild DE (which is what he wants for his second pass).

I tried it a few times, and in fact did a variant of it this morning: I did the first pass with a Trac II and the second pass with a Slim set at 3 with a Kai blade. Really a nice shave. There may be something to this idea. This way you can enjoy both implements at the same time.

I buy them from dridiot. Cheaper than WM and they are factory originals.

Where are you in Canada?

I use the Sensor everytime I use a DE...shaving around the nose issue. I've been using it for cleanup work too.

But, but...

That Feather is Stainless, right?

I thought Stainless imbued razors made from it with magical qualities!!!?!??

Does dridiot have a website, or an Ebay store? I'd like to get carts for my 1990 Sensor. Paying less than the Wal-Mart price is a plus.

I used an Atra for years. When shaving became a hobby, I became more curious about other cartridge razors, not less.

I actually have a Sensor with a couple of cartridges that I picked up sometime earlier this year. At some point, I may take a short break from the SE/injector/DE rotation, and try it out. Or it may still be unopened fifteen years from now. So many razors, so few years on Earth.

The Sensor Excel is the cart that I used for many years. It's hard to beat as far as carts go. Then I got a fusion for free. I don't want to discuss that horrible experience.
