I think that I will start switching because going xtg from below chin to edge of the neck I seem to not be able to make that swipe without burning myself. I know it's common fot straight razor users to do it.

Nope. I do with a straight but not with a DE.

Ooops, just saw your neck burn post...I was typing when you put it up.

For some reason, I just naturally seem to use less pressure on the non-dominant hand side of my neck. If I do get a touch of burn it's usually on the dominant hand side.

No sir. I'd lose that half of my face in the sink.
It would be ok if I kept everyone facing my good side.....

No, I do not.
I hold my razor only with my right hand and shave with it.
And I use my left hand exclusively to pull and stretch my skin.

I started switching hands a while back in preparation for learning to shave with a straight. After a little practice I found it just as easy to shave with either hand.

When I started wet shaving, I didn't trust my left hand enough. As of late, though, I find myself shaving the left side of my face with my left hand. So--"Yes".

Nope. Dominant hand only.

and, like an earlier poster, I usually get a nicer result on the OTHER side.

Maybe I should shave with both hands, but use the right hand for the left side of the face and the left hand for the right side of the face. That just might be the best approach!

I shave with my right, but often hold the brush with the left, one two strike, at the buffing pass. At least, I will not hurt myself holding the brush wrong.

Sorry for the hijack sproosemoose...well, maybe it's only a derail for a bit. :biggrin1:

I have been tempted to take a picture using both hands, but with two straights...one in each hand.

Lather up, get a straight in each hand, take a picture of both hands doing an initial under the sideburns stroke, put it up as an avatar, then title it Speed Shaver.

Ewwww, that's lame, isn't it?

.

Woah, I am SHOCKED by the results!

It took a little while for me to get used to shaving with both hands when I switched to straights, but a DE razor? C'mon, it's the easiest thing in the world to use both hands!
Am I crazy here, or does everyone but me really only use one hand? And if so, why?
